Abigail & Angelo | Wedding | Natte Valleij | Stellenbosch

Remember that day in early February when it just poured down with rain? Well, that was Abigail and Angelo’s wedding day! I would be lying if I said that it didn’t worry me at all, because it really was bucketing down. However, Abigail and Angelo’s positive attitudes made me feel comfortable that we could knock it out the park no matter what the weather was like! And I don’t want to be all self-congratulatory, but damn… we knocked it out the park!

The rain stopped just before Abigail’s bridal portraits – which meant that we could do them in the courtyard outside the room she used to get ready. The light was perfect (thanks to the cloud cover!) and Abigail was a total dream! I took loads of bridal portraits, because Abigail was so prompt and on time that we had oodles of time to work through every angle of a bridal portrait. I loved these and could honestly just stare at them forever!

The ceremony and reception had been moved inside the building due to the weather but it made for a really cozy affair with the ceremony and fairy lights in the background. It was a short but sweet service with lots of special mention of the couple. It was informal and beautiful.

The couple shoot was a huge success – not a drop of rain and the sun even peeked out for about 30 seconds! Abigail and Angelo both rocked this so hard that I had to be dragged away towards the end of their shoot time. They’re such a stunning couple and I loved the entire style of the wedding day – the boho chic vibes with the fringe dress and flower crown for Abigail and the brown suit for Angelo. It was giving me very retro vibes and I loved it!

The reception was incredible! Heartfelt speeches, groom serenading his bride (whaaat!) and delicious food – everything that makes a reception perfect. But you know what makes it more perfect? A SILENT DISCO!! The thing you never thought you needed at your wedding until now! For those that don’t know – a silent disco is where every person has a pair of wireless headphones that have 3 different channels for different music styles (I think they had kiddies, retro and modern) so you can tune in to whatever you want to listen to. The reason it’s “silent’ is because if you take your headphones off – there is no music! It’s a great way for people to participate but for those that aren’t interested, they can at least sit down and keep conversation going. I didn’t have a set of headphones, so I spent most of the evening giggling at people breathlessly singing along to their favourite tunes, while being slightly out of tune themselves and just hearing scuffling feet as they all danced.

It was a stunner of a wedding day and I wish I could go back in time and do it all again – I had so much fun!
