TELLING STORIES OF

Anria & JP | Wedding | Dunn’s Castle | Piketberg

Anria and I first met in grade 5, and later became friends in grade 10 when we were put in the same class. We shared most of the same subjects and found we both had a taste for strange music and a love of Harry Potter. We quickly became the two strangest girls in our year, and I am forever grateful that we became friends. We’ve stayed close friends in the 9 (!!) years since we’ve left high school, and despite sometimes spending months without seeing each other, we are always able to chat for HOURS and never run out of things to say.

So naturally, when she asked me to photograph her wedding, I was conflicted! I wanted to enjoy the day, but I also wanted her to have beautiful photos. So we came to a deal that I would photograph the wedding, but only up to a point, and then I’ll join Anria on the dance floor! (dance is another mutual love of ours!) It was an absolutely stunner of a wedding day and I’m so glad we kept that arrangement.

JP & Anria got married at Dunn’s Castle in Piketberg, which is such a stunning venue and location and perfect for a fairy tale style escape! The decor was gorgeous and every effort was put into making it so beautiful. It was perfectly fitting to have a fairy themed wedding at a castle venue!

A huge and very special thank you to Lorraine from Lol’s Flowers and Functions for making Anria’s bouquet. I knew Anria & JP wouldn’t have fresh flowers on their wedding day, and I feel that every bride should have a beautiful bouquet, even if those are the only flowers on the day! I knew Lorraine was the one to ask, and she delivered this STUNNER of a bouquet. It truly was something special and added just an extra little something something to the photos.

I hope you enjoy this snippet of their wedding day – I did take photos at the reception, but decided to end the blog post off for the end of the couple shoot. 🙂
