Best photos of 2017
2017 was a pretty topsy-turvy year for me. I was challenged both personally and professionally and I am pleased to announce that I made it out alive! (Slightly dramatized for effect…) I am so lucky to have had such wonderful clients in 2017, who were caring, understanding and just overall kind people. They made my job so much easier, and a total pleasure to do!
2017 was also the year that I changed some of my branding, pricing, and various designs on documentation. I feel like I have found the perfect aesthetic to go with my bright and light photography style! I love a classic look, and that’s what I want with my photos and my packaging. Something timeless, so that in 50 years time, when you’re showing your grandkids your wedding photos it looks like they could’ve been taken the day before. It is sometimes challenging to not fall straight into what is trending (I always feel like it looks great for 2 years and then ages really badly – remember when vignetting was on every photo? Looks super dated now.) but I feel like I have stood firm in my feeling of what timeless and elegant wedding photos look like and I am so thrilled.
This of course, is not possible without a few key people (cue soppy moments!) in my life: First, my boyfriend Dennis for supporting me and cheering me on from the sidelines, always there if I need a second opinion or just to rant about my day. Second, my assistants in 2017:??Kelly Anne & Lindsay Fourie. Kelly has been with me since 2014 (!) and Lindsay helped for a few months this year while Kelly was on maternity leave. Ladies… without your help on the wedding day I would be totally useless. I’d forget my keys somewhere and probably leave a veil in a tree (or something similar) THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all your help. You are appreciated immensely!
Now…??before totally giving over to 2018, let’s take a look at some of my absolute favourite photos from 2017. It was so difficult to choose just a few, so here are over 100 to browse through from this eventful year!
Cheers to 2018!
