Carolanne & Craig | Wedding | D’Aria | Durbanville
Carolanne and Craig were my last wedding couple of 2018, and I couldn’t have thought of a better wedding to end off the year!
Carolanne & Craig both got ready at their family homes – it is always such a pleasure to have insight into my clients by seeing the places they grew up! Craig was up first, with an extra enthusiastic ring bearer who popped in for some champagne as soon as that bottle popped, despite being well under the drinking age! They clinked glasses and gave Craig some sage advice (I can’t remember what it was, but I’m sure it was deep and meaningful!) and I hopped over to the girls getting ready.
Carolanne was a VISION in her dress, made by her brother! I nearly traded my sister in on the spot – sisters have some stepping up to do! Every woman in that house was offering advice and being a general hype-team for Carolanne. It was such a huge pleasure to have them around to fix small little things like hairs out of place or fluffing the dress just right, and made my job so much easier.
We arrived at D’Aria for the ceremony, which unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to photograph, but it gave me a unique opportunity to sit back and take it all in. It was a stunning day, and sitting out in the forest was just perfection.
The couple shoot ran smoothly, with lots of giggles and “oh yes!” from me, because despite their protests, Craig and Carolanne NAILED IT. I adore these photos – the light, the colours… everything just came together perfectly. But that is of course what happens when you have an organised bride at the head of the wedding day!
I had such a lovely time at the wedding and thoroughly enjoyed photographing this special day. It was the right one to end 2018 on for sure!
