I love surprises – but here’s a secret – I love being let in on surprises! So when Nicky contacted me and told me she wanted to organise a photoshoot for her partner Kevin, I was thrilled! His 50th birthday was coming up, and she was quietly organising for Kevin’s family to come to Cape Town to spend the weekend with him! I think Nicky deserves some kind of gold medal – not only for organising the surprise, but pulling it off! I got a message on the evening before the shoot telling me that Kevin had absolutely no idea, and was so thrilled when the kids all arrived!

Nicky??wanted the shoot to be on the beach – so we decided on Gordons Bay Harbour and then Bikini beach right next to it. The weather was definitely not beach weather – but it was the most beautiful soft light with light clouds covering the sky. This made for absolutely gorgeous portraits!

I am so so thrilled with these photos, and I’m so excited to share them all. Hopefully you see Nicky and Kevin on the blog again, this time with another??family member – their dog Ozzy!
