Laura and Anrich’s wedding day was such a special one. I remember Laura’s mom getting emotional at seeing her in her dress for the first time, and the pride and happiness that beamed from their faces as they walked down the aisle together. There was something magical in the air that day, a buzz of excitement between the guests, so full of emotion as everybody wiped tears from their eyes during their first dance as husband and wife. The energy was palpable. I never underestimate the privilege it is to capture these moments, as the day is ultimately about the emotions and love the couple have for each other as well as their love for celebrating with their nearest and dearest.

I was lucky enough to work at Simondium’s Country Lodge again, this time in my own capacity (I have helped photographer friends with shooting weddings here before), and what a treat it was! I loved all the little details in the chapel and on the property, as I looked at them with fresh eyes. I used to live a little way up the road (about 20 years ago!) and the view brought back such beautiful memories for me, it is such a special place. Laura’s mom put together the entirety of their wedding decor, and it was incredible! There is something so special about a mother’s loving touch on the details of the day that you can’t replicate. Laura’s makeup was done by the super talented Luhanie Ehlers Makeup Artist (just look at those lashes!) and hair by CSV Styling – you gotta love a classic updo!
