Renate and Michael’s engagement shoot took place in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, in Stellenbosch. While Stellenbosch is a firm favourite area for taking photos, I had never visited the nature reserve before – can you believe it? I am so grateful to Renate and Michael for introducing me to this breaktaking location, I will definitely be revisiting it.

We bundled into Renate’s car and made our way through the nature reserve. Her little car fiercely drove down the rough roads and brought us to the most beautiful spots. I must say a special thank you to both Michael and Renate for being so patient with me (and with the light!) and waiting for the absolutely perfect lighting and perfect spots for photos. Doing a bit of a bundu-bash through the long grass and ending up on the other side of some beautiful trees made it all worth it. These types of locations are my favourite to photograph – quiet, peaceful, romantic!

I am looking forward to photographing their wedding in a few weeks time, and I can’t wait to share those photos with you as soon as I can! 🙂
