TELLING STORIES OF

LOVE

Tifny & Lindsay | Wedding | Joostenberg Bistro | Stellenbosch

I arrived at the venue to photograph the decor (as I always like to do first) and I was totally blown away! The attention to detail was so incredible and I loved the gold and pink mixed in with the classic bridal whites. It made it fashionable, yet timeless. I could have spent all day in there photographing decor and stationary, but had to move on quickly to get some photos of Lindsay getting ready. He got ready in his parent’s home, helped out by his dad and groomsmen. There were so many laughs and I think it’s safe to say that Lindsay’s debut album cover is sorted 😉

I then zipped over the road (well… down the road and around the corner) to get Tifny’s preparations and came into a room full of giggles and excitement! Now, as things don’t always go according to plan, we had to cut the bridal portraits short to get to the ceremony on time. It was a beautiful ceremony, involving their nearest and dearest and of course Lindsay couldn’t resist a cheeky grin at the camera, which I took to mean “We’re getting married!!” 😉 After the ceremony (short, but sweet – my favourite kind) I got Tifny to the back of the venue, where there is the most gorgeous alleyway/walkway to grab some bridal portraits without the fear of running out of time. I took in all the details of her gorgeous dress (by the one and only Tashreeqa Sadien) and easily could have spent another hour doing so (do you see a pattern here yet…. ) but had to move away to grab the fun bridal party and then some couple photos.

Joostenberg was one of the first venues I shot at when I went out on my own in 2014, and I am so happy to be back there year after year. It’s a gorgeous and diverse venue and it worked so perfectly with the romance of Tifny & Lindsay’s wedding day. They giggled, looked deep into each other’s eyes and followed any instruction to perfection – they were a total dream to photograph! It was so easy and so much fun!

Then… their entrance… they came dancing into their reception area to Sista Betina??(spelling seems to vary everywhere I look)??- to hoots and cheers from their captive audience! This pretty much sums this couple up. Fun, lighthearted and happy! The next “big moment” for me was the father-daughter dance with her grandfather. These always get me all teary eyed and this was no exception. So touching that a man of his years spun his granddaughter around like a princess, and held her tight in his arms. Equally touching was the passing over to Lindsay to take over from him for the couple’s first dance as husband and wife.

The entire wedding was totally romantic, classic and gorgeous in every tiny detail.
