The engagement shoot that nearly never happened! Initially, we were supposed to do the shoot on Signal Hill, but in the early hours of the morning, there was a fire on Table Mountain, and I was hesitant to go forward with the shoot if our views were obscured. I quickly called all my friends (*ahem* just Claire) who live in the area and asked what the mountain looked like. Totally covered with cloud, apparently!! Since the entire point of Signal Hill is the gorgeous views you can get from there, I let Wade and Tasneem know that there are no views to be seen. Without missing a beat, Wade suggested the Bo Kaap as an alternate location. I am so happy that we went forward and did the shoot in the Bo Kaap. With the colourful houses, and equally colourful people it perfectly matched Wade and Tasneem’s enthusiasm for the shoot. I had an amazing time photographing them and could’ve happily photographed them for hours longer! I can’t wait for their wedding next year!
